Ottawa Regional Meeting – October 4, 2014 – Report

The meeting was informal and encouraged all the members to share and fellowship with each other. Fourteen people attended, some coming from as far as Petawawa.

What follows is a report on the meeting:

  1. Dr. Mingardi started by explaining the goals and program of the meeting.
    He gave the goals of the meeting:

    • Knowing better our members and their needs
    • Ensuring that the members who cannot attend the National Convention are informed and participate in the fellowship
    • Establishing relationships between members at the local level for fellowship and mutual support
    • Increasing local awareness about ECAMFC by inviting people who may be interested in joining our fellowship
  2. Then Brother George Desjardins opened in prayer.
  3. A time of music and worship followed.
  4. All those attending the meeting introduced themselves and described their testimony and ministry.
  5. Dr.Mingardi gave a short presentation on the following topics
    • The initial vision and the present direction of ECAMFC.
    • The difficulties of managing a small organization on a voluntary basis and that can afford only one administrative assistant
    • The need to better connect with the members and the participation of the members in ECAMFC.
    • The achievements of ECAMFC from the 2004 separation from ECAI.
    • The establishment of the Bible Extension Institute and the Examination process for applicants not meeting the educational requirements for ordination but having years of ministerial experience.
    • The policy for nomination of members to the Board of Directors.
    • The new proposed bylaws and their coming distribution and approval by the members.
    • The new directory of members and membership cards with photos of the members.
  6. Dr.Mingardi asked for feedback and advice from the members. The members made the following observations:
    • The meeting was useful.
    • They felt strongly the need for local meetings and fellowship.
    • They suggested continuing the meetings on a quarterly basis, and we agreed to have three local meetings a year.
  7. The members separated into two groups for ministry and praying for each other’s needs.
  8. The meeting closed with a fellowship lunch including sandwiches, veggies, sweets and beverages.

We hope that more members will participate in future meetings.

About Maurizio Mingardi

Dr. Maurizio Mingardi, in 1972, had an encounter with God that totally changed his life. From a scientist doing research in Quantum Mechanics and an atheist, Maurizio became a believer and a disciple of Jesus Christ. Then a spiritual journey began. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and later started Mount Zion Church of the Firstborn in Ottawa, Ontario. Maurizio has been in the ministry for more than 30 years and is presently the Senior Pastor of Mount Zion Church. He has also filled a number of executive positions in public and religious organizations. In 2014 he was elected President of ECAMFC.
